Clifton Ronald “Ronnie” Barnes, age 76, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Andalusia, AL died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at William F. Green State Veterans Home. He was a retired electrician at International Paper Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hobby Barnes of Andalusia, AL; his children, Clifton Randall (Toni) Barnes of Mobile, AL, Karianne Ashley (Brandon Dye) Barnes of Bakersfield, CA, Angie (Shane) Watkins of Andalusia, AL, Clay (Mary) Johnston of Mobile, AL and Donna Hutto of Barnwell, SC; siblings, Michael A. (Sandra) Barnes of Wilmer, AL, Richard D. (Tracy) Barnes of Chickasaw, AL, Anita (Tom) Mattern of Spanish Fort, AL, Deanna (Mike) Szymanski of Saraland, AL and Bruce (Thelma) Barnes of Saraland, AL; nine grandchildren, Scott Barnes, Dennis Werneth, Jason Werneth, Lonnie “Camp” Campbell, Jacob Watkins, Bobbie Watkins, Kenady Watkins, Alyssa Hutto and Sophia Johnston; three great grandchildren, Hunter James Barnes, J.T. Watkins and Jenley Watkins and a number of special nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Hester and Betty Lou Watson Barnes.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Chaplain Dan Cresswell officiating. Burial will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery in Spanish Fort at 2:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Barnes, Scott Barnes, Shaun Barnes, Mike Barnes, Jr. Camp Campbell, Jacob Watkins and Derek Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Palmer, Jim “Cajun” Carroll, Dennis Werneth, Jason Werneth, B.J. Barnes and Charles Hobby.
