U.S. Veteran Mr. John Thomas Foster, 82, born July 11,1930 in Bay Minette, Alabama and a resident of Perdido, Alabama, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary. He is preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Foster, Sr.; his mother, Lizzie Fretwell Foster Clark; son, Roger Foster; brothers, Henry, Eugene and William Foster, Fred Foster; sisters, Louise Maddox, Annabelle Ramer.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Weekley Foster, Perdido, AL; four daughters, Judy (Ronnie) Peacock, Bay Minette, AL, Janet (Web) Bush, Perdido, AL, Cheryl (Malcolm) Harrelson, Perdido, AL, Carol Foster, Bay Minette, AL; eight grandchildren, Heather (Rod) Johnson, Amber (Jeremy) McKissack, Blake (Ashley) Coleman, Cody Coleman, Jennifer (Brian) Sanders, Jodi (Dustin) Freeman, Jessica (Blake) Bossard, and Tonya (Marcus) Loftis and eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Mark Foster, Baton Rouge, LA and Buddy Clark, Andalusia, AL; sister, Lena V. (James) Scott, Troy, AL.

Tom worked at Alabama Dry Docks and Shipbuilding in Mobile as an Insulator Foreman. He retired in 1988. He was an active member of Perdido Baptist Church and served on the cemetery committee for several years. He was a Master Mason of Perdido Lodge No. 752 F.& A.M. in Perdido, AL.; also an active member of Carney Lodge No. 549 F.& A.M. in Atmore, AL. Tom was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the U.S. Army.

He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather and a great friend. He leaves behind two loyal companions, Sparky and Angel. Tom never met a stranger and will always be remembered how funny he was and how well he treated people. He will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Perdido Baptist Church with the Reverend Malcolm Harrelson, Reverend Robert Klotz and Chaplain Cindy Still officiating. Interment will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery. Masonic honors will be rendered at graveside by Perdido Lodge No. 752, F.& A.M.

Active pallbearers will be Blake Coleman, Rod Johnson, Jeremy McKissack, Jerry Hall, Nip Hadley and Ryan Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Perdido Lodge No. 752, F.& A.M. The white ribbons worn by the active pallbearers are in memory of those who lost their battle with lung cancer and in honor of those still fighting.
